DJ Sava … great, great Romanian Music

You know, there is a word that says … “the success comes once but you prepare a life (or anyway some good years, too) for this”. And when the success comes after some intermediary phases usually lasts many years. First, when I heard this song – Sunshine … below is a remix which features DJ Sava and ConnectR I couldn’t believe that is Romanian. But, in the end I got along with the music success of “our people” so I said – great, another extraordinary tune. Check out this remix: … and the original version: Having a keen interest in … Continue reading DJ Sava … great, great Romanian Music

I like music and I like advertising. “The Night of The AdEaters” /”La Nuit Des Publivores”/”Noaptea Devoratorilor de Publicitate” is an event I like to attend every year. It is a professional duty to attend but also an opportunity to mix business and pleasure. The Night of the AdEaters is a show that now runs in more that 40 countries worldwide dedicated to showing the production of advertising among 60 different nationalities on the Big Screen and in a crazy atmosphere! It’s the opportunity to fling open a window on the world and for six hours to get a taste … Continue reading Shukar Collective @ “The Night of The AdEaters, Bucharest, 2008”

Smiley – a business perspective

The idea of this article came in June when I had a very different way of spending the afternoon in the day of my birthday: me and my wife were invited by Target Magazine, a magazine which publish success business stories and profiles of the success business people to attend their party for the annual awards. It was a different way to do it than in previous years but all was great: the atmosphere, the people, the club, everything. Here are some pictures: Tle live acts were a crew of dancers from Pro TV and Smiley, a member of Simplu … Continue reading Smiley – a business perspective

Eric B. & Rakim – biography, discography

Hip-hop trailblazers Eric B. and Rakim’s first single, “Eric B. Is President” (#48, 1986), sparked early debate on the legality of unauthorized, uncredited sampling when James Brown sued to prevent the duo’s use of a fragment of his music. It also established Brown’s back catalog as a hip musical mining ground for a new generation of hip-hop programmers. With Rakim’s relaxed vocal delivery (“Microphone Fiend,” “Paid in Full”) and rhymes that have been described as “existential,” together with Eric B.’s deft turntable manipulation, the duo became one of the most acclaimed hip-hop acts of the late ’80s. The two met … Continue reading Eric B. & Rakim – biography, discography

One of the most interesting channels on Youtube belongs to Scott Granger, aka DJ Scott G. Spot who is 1/2 of The Directorz from Scotland. He is DJ, DVDJ, Music Video producer and is responsible for remixing music videos from major record labels like Universal, Sony/BMG, Gusto, MOS and Mercury for artists like Just Jack, Groove Armada, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and many more. Tan Tan Beach Club – Mamaia, The Black Sea Coast, Romania

The weekend tourism is very developed in Romania and sometimes is the only possibility to take a break due to the extended working hours some of us have to face. During the peak periods, as are July and August for the seaside area, the price to be paid if you are a regular person and not a VIP owning a private jet is … to wait even for hours due to the traffic jams. One of the nicest places where I like to “expose my skin in the Sun” is the Tan Tan Club which is a beach club. The … Continue reading Tan Tan Beach Club – Mamaia, The Black Sea Coast, Romania

Fatboy Slim show preview

In something like the Romanian Guiness Book of Records, Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim should fill the position for “The DJ Gathering more than 20,000 people on a beach”. If we as a small country on earth, set the record of 20,000, other nations gathered 10 times more people at similar events. Check this out: … nice crowd, Norman man!!! Put your hands up for Brazil… good catch!!! The intro from the first beach Fatboy Slim concert in Mamaia is posted somewhere on my own MySpace Page. Continue reading Fatboy Slim show preview

The Mission Dance Weekend 11st and 12nd of July, 2008

I love clubbing! I remember some words from one song being like this: “I love music and I allow music to love me”. I published before so it isn’t a new thing that I like after a busy, busy business week to escape from the city along with my family and to jump into the beach atmosphere. Clubbing is the next step. My really favourite past-open-air-clubbing events were Liberty Parade in 2007 and the first appearance of Fatboy Slim. This guy, being at a maturity age shows that his music and style have lots, lots of substance. He is a … Continue reading The Mission Dance Weekend 11st and 12nd of July, 2008

Indiggo – girls with attitude

Mrs. Modorcea was my Russian language teacher in high-school. I have only nice memories regarding that period. Unfortunately, my Russian is not OK because I didn’t practice this language but I truly remember the classical music auditions during some of the lessons. At that time I started DJ-ing, and going to the radio station was the best excuse for not preparing the homeworks or not attending the classes. This lady is surely no.1 in my prefferences regarding the high school teachers I had. A very good professional, a kind person, and a true pupils-oriented team player. I know her twin … Continue reading Indiggo – girls with attitude
