The number of building permits issued in Bulgaria dropped with 25% in Q1 2008

According with the British publication Overseas Property Professional, quoting the Bulgarian National Statistics Institute, in the first three months of this year, 3,505 construction permits in a total amount of 2.56 mil sqm were issued in Bulgaria. In the same period of 2007 were issued 4,637 permits covering 4.46 mil sqm which means a decrease in 2008 of 25%. The city Bourgas is the first with the most permits for construction (394) followed by Sofia (311) and Varna (236). Two thirds of the permits issued during Q1 2008 were for residential projects. So, in the middle of the day, 2 1/2 hours by car from Bucharest to Mamaia, 5 hours of conference, 3 hours sun & bath on the beach and after that, the road back to Bucharest.
