Napoleon Hill – Think and Grow Rich’s 13 Principles of Success

I came across Napoleon Hill’s book Think and Grow Rich in 2010 and I’ve read it entirely during four flights – Bucharest – London – Isle of Man and return. At that time I didn’t understand much from it – probably my mind wasn’t really prepared to digest that kind of information. But I came back to the book more than once since then and slowly, slowly I started to actually process the information. Based on that experience I am able to help my coaching clients to have a simple method of digesting rapidly this type of information despite the obvious resistance from the mind. But this is not the subject of this article. To cut the story short, Napoleaon Hill worked for 25 years to create this amazing book which can be found for free all over the internet and collected here the success principles he could find after studying and interviewing where this was possible the most successful 500 Americans of all times. You can download the ebook here (3rd party website, no optin is required).

What I can say is that those principles are like The Law of Gravity – they work no matter if you believe in them or not. So almost everytime when I am down especially from the professional point of view I come back to these principles seeking the missing link – what I did wrong. How you can benefit from these principles? Well, you can use them as a Map in the Gps of your life and guide your thoughts, visions and actions using them.

1 (2)

1. Desire

Napoleon says that the desire is the  starting point of all achievement.
“Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to burn his ships and cut all sources of retreat. Only by doing can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a BURNING DESIRE TO WIN, essential to success.”

2.  Faith

Faith is the visualization of, and belief in attainment of desire.
FAITH is the head chemist of the mind. When FAITH is blended with the vibration of thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to Infinite Intelligence, as in the case of prayer.”

3. Auto-suggestion

Auto-suggestion is be;lieved to be the medium for influencing The Subconscious Mind.
AUTO-SUGGESTION is the agency of control through which an individual may voluntarily feed his sub-conscious mind on thoughts of a creative nature, or, by neglect, permit thoughts of a destructive nature to find their way into this rich garden of the mind.”

4. Specialized knowledge

Napoleon Hill’s book was finished and published in the 30’s but even then and especially now you need special knowledge and not general knowledge to win in life and business and this is buit using personal experiences or observations.
“Before you can be sure of your ability to transmute DESIRE into its monetary equivalent, you will require SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE of the service, merchandise, or profession which you intend to offer in return for fortune.”

5. Imagination

Imagination is considered to be the workshop of the mind.
MAN’S ONLY LIMITATION, within reason, LIES IN HIS DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF HIS IMAGINATION. He has not yet reached the apex of development in the use of his imaginative faculty. He has merely discovered that he has an imagination and has commenced to use it in a very elementary way.”

6. Organised planning

The organised planning facilitates the crystallization of desire into action
“Every plan you adopt, in your endeavor to accumulate wealth, should be the joint creation of yourself and every other member of your “Master Mind” group. You may originate your own plans, either in whole or in part, but SEE THAT THOSE PLANS ARE CHECKED, AND APPROVED BY THE MEMBERS OF YOUR “MASTER MIND” ALLIANCE.”

7. Decision

Procrastination is a disease actually eating us piece by piece on a daily basis if we permit it to do so. We have to attan the mastery stage in dealing with  procrastination.
“Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million dollar mark, disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit ofREACHING DECISIONS PROMPTLY, and of changing these decisions SLOWLY, if, and when they were changed.”

8. Persistence

We people tend to give up too soon which is very bad both on short term and long term. The Sustained Effort Necessary to Induce Faith. “PERSISTENCE is an essential factor in the procedure of transmuting DESIRE into its monetary equivalent. The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL.”

9. Power of the mastermind

The mastermind is considered to actually be the driving force.
“Analyze the record of any man who has accumulated a great fortune, and many of those who have accumulated modest fortunes, and you will find that they have either consciously, or unconsciously employed the “Master Mind” principle.”

10. The mystery of sex transmutation

“So strong and impelling is the desire for sexual contact that men freely run the risk of life and reputation to indulge it. When harnessed, and redirected along other lines, this motivating force maintains all of its attributes of keenness of imagination, courage, etc., which may be used as powerful creative forces in literature, art, or in any other profession or calling, including, of course, the accumulation of riches.”

11. The subconscious mind

The subconscious mind is the connecting link.
“The SUBCONSCIOUS MIND consists of a field of consciousness, in which every impulse of thought that reaches the objective mind through any of the five senses, is classified and recorded, and from which thoughts may be recalled or withdrawn as letters may be taken from a filing cabinet.”

12. The brain

The brain is actually a broadcasting and receiving station for thought.
“Operation of your mental “broadcasting” station is a comparatively simple procedure. You have but three principles to bear in mind, and to apply, when you wish to use your broadcasting station – the SUBCONSCIOUS MIND, CREATIVE IMAGINATION, and AUTO-SUGGESTION. The stimuli through which you put these three principles into action have been described – the procedure begins with DESIRE.”

13. The sixth sense

The sixth sense is The Door to the Temple of Wisdom. “The sixth sense defies description! It cannot be described to a person who has not mastered the other principles of this philosophy, because such a person has no knowledge, and no experience with which the sixth sense may be compared.”

Many of you get value from the content I publish which is great and this helps me going forward!

I was asked, begged, bribed, persuaded to actually start a mastermind group for high achievers and action takers. This is not just another mastermind, it is a real growth opportunity and it is not available to the general public – just presented inside my circles  and limited to 100 members. Just take a look and see what is all about and if you are in let’s do this! One year will pass anyway but this can simply be your year! More information here. Once the places are taken the registration link will dissapear.
